New Workforce Opportunities

The Trade & Investment Office in Philadelphia is building new opportunities for Liberia’s workforce.

Today, Ambassador Gurly Gibson toured the College of Philadelphia training facilities that are being considered for Liberian participants in a training vocational program.

The program will include a number of specialist subjects includding:

• Heavy-duty mechanics

• Automotive

• Welding

• Healthcare

• Transportation 

• Manufacturing 

The initiative focuses on modern technical training which equips trainees with a unique set of skills they are able to transfer when they return back to Liberia.

The goal is to build stronger instructors, strengthen vocational education in a diverse set of areas and create pathways to more careers.

From Philadelphia to Liberia, we aim to continue promoting skill development and exchange through the Trade & Investment Office in Philadelphia!
