Liberia Engages in Conversation on the Creative Economy as Cultural Power
The Trade & Investment Office of Liberia is participating in a panel discussion examining the relationship between culture, creativity, diplomacy and economic opportunity.
The discussion, titled “Creative Economy as Cultural Power: Leveraging Cultural Diplomacy, Business Ecosystems, and Diaspora Capital for Global Impact,” took place as part of One Diaspora Gala Week in Philadelphia.
According to the event materials supplied by the Office, the September 18 program was presented by The Atelier: Africa and Africatown and featured Emmanuel D. Abalo of the Liberia Trade & Investment Office.
The panel provides an opportunity to examine the creative economy not only as a cultural sector, but also as an area connected to entrepreneurship, investment, diaspora engagement and international visibility.
The Office's participation is consistent with its broader mandate to strengthen commercial relationships and present Liberia as a destination for investment and partnership across a range of sectors.
The Trade & Investment Office's website planning materials specifically identify cultural and creative industries among the areas to be developed as part of its investment-opportunity platform.
